Director, Learning Design

The role:

This is a unique opportunity for an innovative thinker to evolve OES’s evidence based online learning strategy. Reporting to the Executive Academic Director, the Director, Learning Design is a pivotal role to the successful delivery of Learning Design across multiple partner universities.

Day to day the role is responsible for informing the strategic learning and teaching direction of the team, project management and timely delivery of units, and liaising with senior academics across our partners to ensure that our online units provide the best possible student learning experience.

The focus will be overseeing the development and implementation of quality online programmes that comply with OES’s pedagogical model, module quality standards, and optimise the student learning experience.

About you:

  • Masters or PhD in a relevant discipline and/or extensive experience in a senior learning and teaching role within the Higher Education sector.
  • Experience in tertiary teaching environments that address contemporary approaches to learner-centred, flexible education, including online.
  • Mastery of pedagogy, innovative design and delivery methods, and tools for online teaching.
  • Ability and desire to support business development activities including attending client presentations and pitch meetings, and to operate within a commercial environment.
  • High standard of interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to develop effective stakeholder relationships, and influence outcomes.
  • Process and project management experience in environments of competing priorities, tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
  • People management skills and experience will be highly regarded.
  • Initiative, curiosity and someone who will enjoy the challenges of an agile and fast-paced start-up, are also vital to success in this role.
