Head of Sales

The role:

Reporting into the Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, the Head of Sales role is an initial 12-month contract which is primarily responsible for driving the sales of multiple partner university courses by inspiring and leading a cohesive in-house telephone-based sales team. The role will focus heavily on coaching and developing the sales leadership team, with a key focus on identifying and improving team performance to elevate conversion rates

This position is responsible for delivering regular commercial insights and data driven reports to all levels of the organisation by university partner, therefore will require someone who is highly numerate and able to work within a complex sales environment. The ability to think commercially should come naturally, and the desire to engage stakeholders up to executive level in a compelling way should invigorate you.

This role will suit an experienced sales leader who has the hunger and passion to pursue ambitious growth. You will thrive in a people centric, service-oriented organisation whilst also remaining outcome and sales focused. Success in this role means leading a highly engaged, quality focused and high-performing team that consistently achieves sales targets. Therefore, only applicants who have had previous experience leading a medium/large sales team with demonstrated uplift in conversion rates and achievement of KPIs will be considered.

About you:

  • Proven experience managing a high achieving medium/large sales team
  • Highly developed critical thinking, numerical reasoning and decision-making skills
  • Previous experience setting targets and KPIs and reporting results into leadership teams
  • Proven experience in identifying and improving team performance to elevate conversion rates
  • Experience within: Online Tertiary/Education, Professional/Financial Services, Retail Banking or Digital sectors highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to lead and motivate a growing and changing sales operation
  • Ability to think commercially and drive change where necessary
  • An ability to “operate in the grey” and an action-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • A positive proactive attitude, with an unyielding passion for success
