Information Specialist (0.6 FTE)

The role

The Information Specialist position is an initial 12-month contract with view to perm and will suit someone looking for part time work as this role is 3 days per week (0.6FTE). As part of the Editorial team and more broadly the Learning Design team, the role will support the creation of content rich units by developing, sourcing and examining resources that are relevant and can be used in the online units.

This role will suit someone who has extremely high attention to detail, and who would enjoy working closely with various stakeholders to manage the cost and resources that are used as part of the online unit delivery.

Day to day you will be responsible for the coordination of academic resources, sourcing useable multi-disciplinary information and education resources online, and providing administration support relating to the development and delivery of pedagogy.

To be successful, it is essential to have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role and a background in librarianship
  • Experience in sourcing useable information and education resources online
  • The ability to create visual representation of information in an engaging and easy to read style
  • Sound experience in web publishing and use of web publishing tools such as DreamWeaver and Flash
  • Knowledge in referencing styles and the legal requirements of the Copyright Act to reference correctly
  • Ability to operate independently with little direction and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and an ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
