Program Director, VET

The role:

This role is 0.6FTE (3 days per week). This role will be based on a hybrid working model (remote + office) and will bee based in our St Kilda Road offices until we move to our new state of the art offices in Cremorne.

The role of Program Director, VET (Vocational Education Training) is to oversee OES’s vocational portfolio to ensure programs are high quality and economically viable, ultimately leading to successful student outcomes.

Through fostering collaborative partnerships, this role will manage the development of multiple online programs and their ongoing delivery through the VET delivery team. Therefore to be considered, we are looking for someone with extensive experience in the design and management of VET programs, preferably within an online environment.

Underpinning this will be the successful management of all quality assurance and compliance matters across all programs within the VET portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of this crucial position is to ensure OES’s vocational portfolio consists of high quality programs which are quality focused, scalable and economically viable, and most of all lead to successful student outcomes.

The role will manage the development of online programs and their ongoing delivery through the VET delivery team and oversee quality assurance and compliance with required internal and external standards and regulations.

As a leader, they will also oversee and inspire a Program Coordinator and team of Online Learning Advisors to provide student centric learning, as well as motivate them to thrive in a flexible, high performance and engaged work environment.

The must have’s:

  • Demonstrated experience in Vocational Education Training (VET), leading innovative learning and teaching initiatives
  • Degree, or higher qualification, in a relevant discipline
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Extensive experience in the scoping, design and management of VET programs, preferably within an online environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of VET regulations, industry trends, changing requirements and quality assurance standards
  • Demonstrated ability to ‘get things done’ and to lead and inspire others
  • Demonstrated experience in VET leading innovative learning and teaching initiatives
  • Expertise in all compliance and policy areas pertaining to the VET sector
  • Demonstrated senior management experience within the VET sector
  • Highly developed commercial acumen and previous experience managing budgets
  • A passion for the student experience
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills
